Campaign overview for 2012-13

“The philanthropic spirit reigns at Connecticut College.” — President Higdon

Thanks to the generous support of thousands of alumni, parents, faculty, staff, students and friends, more than $211 million has been raised, exceeding our Campaign goal. This year, the College raised nearly $25 million in new gifts and commitments, which includes the largest gift in its history to create the new Academic Resource Center. The Center has brought together a wide array of staff, programs and services, supporting today’s students and ensuring they reach their highest academic potential.

One of the most visible results of the Campaign’s success was the opening of the state-of-the-art science center at New London Hall last fall. In addition to being awarded LEED Gold certification in recognition of the College’s commitment to sustainability, the building’s sophisticated research equipment, laboratory configurations and greenhouse have elevated scientific pursuits on campus and further enhanced the College’s reputation as a leader in scientific fields.

Additional enhancements include the opening of the new Academic Resource Center, which will soon be housed in the Charles E. Shain Library when the renovation is complete, as well as exciting improvements in residence hall common rooms and athletic facilities.
